Revitalizing the Center of New Rochelle

Vision

Forward-thinking and proactive civic leadership has ushered in a period of exciting revitalization in the City of New Rochelle. This revitalization has created thousands of jobs, attracted new residents, and established New Rochelle as a role model of sound, sustainable development within Westchester. The transformation has allowed New Rochelle to become a sought after destination to live, work, and play. The Lincoln Avenue Renaissance Project will extend the transformative changes of the city’s transit-oriented Downtown District into the local neighborhood, and bring the benefits of revitalization to the Lincoln Avenue Corridor. The development team, a partnership of the Guion Place Renaissance HDFC, The Boys and Girls Club of New Rochelle, The NRP Group and Kensworth Cosnulting, LLC, along with local stakeholders and the City of New Rochelle, has proposed the Lincoln Avenue Renaissance Project in order to serve the residents of the Lincoln Avenue Corridor and continue the City’s inspiring resurgence.

The development plan will transform the current Remington Boys & Girls club into a brand new, state-of-the-art facility, along with 179 brand new apartments for working New Rochelle families. The residential component of the overall plan will be known as The Renaissance at Lincoln Park. The investment will be a significant one, complementing the City of New Rochelle’s goal to increase connectivity within the Lincoln Avenue Corridor via the State of New York’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative. Through several meetings with public officials and local stakeholders, the development team identified the opportunity to transform the outdated and rapidly aging Remington Boys & Girls Club facility into a new campus that will serve as an anchor for Lincoln Park, a wonderful community asset that is home to a recently renovated playground and basketball court. The new Boys & Girls Club, together with workforce housing, will establish the Lincoln Avenue Corridor as a live and play destination that will serve the men, women and children that proudly call the Lincoln Avenue Corridor home.

The Lincoln Ave Renaissance project will construct 179 new apartments that will provide hard working families and individuals with brand new, energy efficient, and centrally located housing at an affordable price.
Planning for a Sustainable Future

As is the case with many other cities, New Rochelle cares deeply about its carbon footprint and its impact on the environment. The development team for the Lincoln Avenue Renaissance Project is equally concerned about reducing pollution and utilizing on-site sustainable building features. To aide in addressing those concerns, each of these new buildings will be built to energy efficient standards.
Rediscover A Neighborhood Asset

New Rochelle as a whole is known for its great school district, close proximity to New York City, and diverse suburban lifestyle and community. But what if it could offer more? New Rochelle has several parks as it stands, but outside of the library, none are centrally located. The Lincoln Avenue Renaissance project will help to anchor Lincoln Park in the heart of New Rochelle. This centrally located park will offer children, families and seniors alike an opportunity to engage in a variety of outdoor activities ranging from exercise to gardening and community gatherings.
Establishing a Community Hub for the center of New Rochelle

This project comes as the brainchild of active community members who see a need for holistic development beyond the expansion of Downtown New Rochelle. The NRP Group, along with local stakeholders, has proposed the Lincoln Avenue Renaissance Project in order to serve the residents that have not benefited from the City’s flourishing Downtown. Altogether, the development will be a live and play hub for the Lincoln Avenue Corridor.
